Cupping and Dry Needling
Cupping or dry needling at Sage Massage & Movement in North Perth are offered as part of a remedial massage, not as separate bookings. A remedial massage is $135 for 1 hour or $180 for 1.5 hours, at 5 Scarborough Beach Rd. Two of our therapists offer cupping and dry needling, Karen and Kaz, so please select one of them when you book, or call us on (08) 9242 4435 and we will assist you.
Cupping uses cups placed on the skin to create gentle suction, which lifts the skin and the tissue underneath rather than pressing into it. At Sage it is myofascial cupping, used by your remedial therapist alongside hands-on massage on tight areas such as the back, shoulders and legs. The cups can leave round marks on the skin that fade over a few days.
Dry needling uses very fine needles placed into tight bands of muscle, often called trigger points. Nothing is injected. Your therapist uses it on specific spots during a remedial massage, alongside their hands-on work.
Book a remedial massage with Karen or Kaz and write “cupping” or “dry needling” in your booking notes. If you would like a hand finding a time, give us a call.
Your therapist will ask what is bothering you and whether cupping or dry needling suits you on the day. Both are optional and you can say no at any point. They are used on the areas that need them, with massage for the rest of the session.
Please let us know when you book if you are pregnant, take blood thinning medication, bruise easily or have a health condition, and check with your doctor first if you are unsure. Your therapist will tell you if cupping or dry needling is not right for you.
